I just installed my third set of Dunlop 501GTs (100-90/19 front, 150-70/17 rear). My bike now exhibits a shake or harmonic in the front end that wasn't there prior to having the new tires installed. It does not feel like an out-of-balance condition, and tends to lessen the faster I ride. However, it is extremely annoying between 30-50 mph.
I placed the bike on the centerstand, then used a scissors jack to lift the front tire clear of the ground. I placed s straightedge in front of the tire and spun it to see if it was out of round ... didn't appear to be.
have done nothing yet to ck the rear tire.
Any possiblilty of an internal belt having come loose in either of the tires? I'm not sure where to start sorting through this problem other than what I've already done. Maybe pull the wheels and have them checked again for balance (what a PITA!)
The wheels have the same number of weights on them as when balanced .... no missing weights.
