After a good cleaning, I used gold model paint (Testor's) with a fine paintbrush and a steady hand. It holds up pretty well. I've used it on both my stock and Triumph Solo seat.

One of my cheapest and favorite mods...I can see people saying to themselves "Triumph?" at a light when they are behind me...Took my time...and took breaks...You may laugh, but it helps keep a steady hand and it came out awesome.

+1. I did mine in silver to match my black and red T100. Two coats with a Zig brand "Painty Pen" purchased at the neighborhood craft store. (I always feel emasculated going into those places, avoiding eye contact as I wander through the fake flowers, holiday kitsch, and and s*****-booking supplies.) Dried quickly and has been very permanent. Even if it does wear or flake, it's such a quick mod that it will be easy to touch up, if ever required. As a slightly raised imprint on the seat, the "Triumph" logo makes it very easy to color (. . . err . . . colour ) inside the lines.

I did mine with a very small brush and acrylic paint from a hobby store. Two coats of gold, followed by one coat of sealer.

Here's mine, red infill with silver outline. I let my wife and 14-year-old daughter do most of the work. Their scrapbooking, stamping, and other crafty experience make them much better qualified to do fine work than myself. Plus it gives them a sense of pride in the bike, which is good.

(I also got around the picture posting dilemma by letting my daughter post the pic to her Xanga site. It was easier than asking her to explain to me how to do it.)

That's the first time I've seen red (painted on a Triumph logo on a seat, I mean), and that's really nice looking!

Hey Cuz,
I used ''Elmers'' Ultra fine tip painters Gold metallic. I looked at the tube , it is made in Canada so don't know if they sell it in Blighty.
It was easy to do though ,as the tip of the paint pen is like a ball bearing & the paint rolls out as fine as a 'Biro' ink pen..I also had 3, maybe 4 cold bottles of Heineken when I did mine & I was sitting down which probably helped. (Other beers may work - not sure) Cheers. :chug:

Yeah, the red is certainly rare - looks good! Nice compliment to the tornado red of the bike.
