OK, so i now have to "mod-bug"... I am thinking about painting the rims on my bike. I want to paint the outer part black, but leave the spokes chrome. Kinda like the nightster and a couple of other bikes I have seen. But I am not sure if they painted or had it powder coated. If it is paint, you guys got any suggestion on a good paint?

Dont paint them - it will not last. Mine are stock steelies that are powdercoated - very tough stuff and very durable. You can also just go buy some aftermarket aluminum rims that are anodized (check out Excel rims) - but you will still have to do something with the hubs (color-wise) or leave them bare (not a good look IMO).

Thx Bonafide, those in your pic are what i want to get mine to. The only Excel ones i can find are for dirt bikes, not sure if there is a difference, or will those be ok for road use.

OldSkool - someone else will have to point out the correct Excel rims for our application - I can only say I know they offer them to fit our bikes (couple friends bought rims from them) - and they offer their rims in colors.

I'm wanting to put black rims on my Thrux too - I'll probably get with my local bike shop and have them order me some aftermarket black rims to fit my bike - and let them handle the lacing/truing/etc.
