Turned 10,800 coming off the last trip. Have hardly needed to lay a finger on the bike. Haven't even pulled the plugs. Nothing except change oil and filter and adjust chain once. New rear tire last month after the flat fiasco. Will have the valves checked and adjusted, if necessary, next week. (Owner's Manual says at 8K, Haynes says at 12K intervals, so I figured to split the two at around 10K but was in middle of a tour when that rolled around.) Bike is bone stock.
I think Triumph did just fine designing these bikes. They are great, as is, for folks like me that don't want to wrench any more and are great for those who like to tinker and mod.
Someday, out of curiousity I'll look at the plugs and the air filter. Maybe.................. Nah. It runs better than new. Guess I'll leave it alone until it doesn't.
"Benign neglect" AND "don't fix it if it ain't broke" work well for me. I don't recommend it for everybody, particularly nervous types who are always waiting for the next shoe to drop!
