Brent you missed the preditors,
I can't comment on these. I've never heard them in person. From what I've read, they're close to the volume of the D&D's.

I have Predators which are ace. These replaced TORS. My chum has D&D's. D&D's will make your ears bleed!!!

If Stock is 1

TORS is 4

Predators is 8

D&D's is 10

Predators are superbly made, don't need repacking, and no welds on show anywhere. D&D's not so good IMO with bolted on alloy end caps.
Sorry dude, I like the bolts in the D&Ds. Gives it that 'industrial' look.

Obviously, this is subjective, but here's my scale.

Stock - 1
TOR - 3
Staintune - 4
TBike - 6
Hyde - 7
Shark - 7
EPCO - 7.5
Sprint/BC Teardrop/Emgo - 8.5
D&D - 10
Raask - 10
BUB - 10

Don't hold me to it but that's my opinion right now. BTW, I run D&D's on my bike (and have done so since early 2003) and wouldn't change them for any other pipe available for these bikes at the moment.

-brent
Thanks Brent, that is the best explanation I've seen. But tell me something - am I right in assuming that the Hyde at 7 is with the baffles out? If so, how would you rate them with the baffles in?

Where on the scale do factory silencers with a baffelectomy fit in? I assume fairly low?

Other Motorcycle: whatever.
Extra Motorcycle: nope.
Assuming the scale is right (and I do) is there a good reason to spend for Staintunes over TORs? I mean, I've loved the Staintune I used to have on my Beemer, but, they've gotten more pricey.

And which pipe (other than stock) is good for living in a condo. Or, rather, which could I reasonably expect to get away with given octegenarian condo commandos? :hammer:

I just took off my D&D's and installed some Predators.
The predators are not as loud as the D&D at idle (nice for the cops) but once you get in to the throttle, they are similar. The packing in the D&D's is still new looking, btw, I'm sure it would get louder with some age.
The predators have a lower tone, more bass and I prefer that. It is also a true reverse cone, whereas the D&D is more like a straight pipe inside with a packed, baffled can.
I prefer the look and sound of the preds. D&D's may be up for sale soon.

I would rate Stock = 1, if TORs = 3, then a Bafflectomy Stock = 2. I have only heard Preditors and they were pretty loud for me. So when I got the set of bafflectomized Thruxton cans I thought they were just as loud as the Preditors. I fashioned a small baffle to plug the large hole in the second restricter plate and now they sound just right. Not knowing what the others sound like and going off of comments, maybe my pipes are a 4.50 on the scale. :upthumb:

Brent,

How do the new Dominator Sports I just ordered rate on this scale?Am I going to brake windows and set off car alarms?I ran my Staintune classic style without Baffles and rated them higher than a 4.
