I've been searching a lot of threads, but haven't found an answer to my question. Are stock bars compatible with any bar end mirrors? If so, which ones? I like the stock bars, but the mirrors suck! I get a perfect view of my arms and shoulders. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I went with Napoleons, got some screws from Home depot.
They do vibrate over 65mph but settle down again over 85

+1 on Napoleons.

There is a thread somewhere that shows how to mod stock mirrors into bar ends.

Have you considered mirror extender rods as available from Jenks Bolts here in the UK? I fitted a pair to the stock mirrors and they give a good deal of extra vision past your shoulders - they are an easy fit just take off the mirror heads, and screw in the extenders. They don'y vibrate at high speed or get in the way when you are filtering traffic. Just a thought - hope you find a solution that suits.

mlc... did you just put the bracket underneath the bar end cap ? Just some sort of bracket you picked up at the hardware store ?

Thanks for any help.. dont want to pay 60 USD for bar end mirrors...

I read the mirror mod thread.. but that seems a bit complicated.

zugspitz - the bracket replaces barend cap

local metal shop whipped them up from 3m SS. big end radius same as bar+throttle width & small end same radius as mirror thread end width. just followed the suggested template found in wiki

5mm allen head bolt for bar end (goes into stock plug) and 10mm allen head bolt into mirror end.

the washers shown as just spacers as the 10mm bolts i got were a bit too long.

traffic filtering needs alot more care as its a lot wider now, and theyre fixed - but all in all great cheap mod.

I have Napoleons with Super Bars 'cus all the fuss with drilling stock bars was just not worth the time. Get new bars that are close from Bella Corse or New Bonnie and keep the stockers in the garage for backups or put them back on the bike if you ever sell it.
