I ride some ***** roads to work. Today on a 55 mph 2 laner I hit an expansion crack, saw it coming so got into dirt bike mode (up on the pegs) and hit this bump so hard my centerstand banged off the highway. This hasnt happened before, in 11000 miles, and I wonder if the springs on the stand are getting weak, if it was just a hellacios bump, or what. Anybody else get this?

Yep , exactly the same thing happened to me.Pothole.
I took a pair of pliers to the springs, just to stop them possibly coming off.

No! No! No! How many times do I have to tell you guys--you don't rejet after adjusting centerstand springs. YOU INCREASE THE IDLE MIX SCREW ONE QUARTER TURN AND THEN SYNCH THE CARBS! Sometimes you guys are just hopeless. :hammer: :hammer:

Geoff,

It's pretty much normal for the center stand to hit pavement when you meet a big bump. The stand weighs quite a bit, and is not locked up.

Some guys installed only one of the two provided springs, so this tendancy is greater.

You probably did no damage!
