Hi All,
Well I do like to feed the rumour mill
An article in today's Aussie MCN has comment on range changes from big T.
R3 touring (seems pretty well fact from what I've read)
Tiger Cub 675 in 2009 (more dual purpose than the Tiger, now I'd like that!)
Possible superbike to replace the Daytona 955i
But.... a 1500cc 270 degree parallel twin shaft drive cruiser. The mag suggests "chunkier looks with a fatter tear drop tank". This is where I reckon they have to be careful, I feel the sleek looks of the SM are one of it's (many) attractions.
Sorry if it's old news to Uncle Sam but news travels real slow in the Wait Awhile state of Oz.
Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Old news is putting it mildly ! This has been discussed here and other triumph forums ad nausium. I'm one of the most excited members concerning this bike, yet even i've tiered of the rumors. Still horribly anxious to know if it's real and what it will look/feel/run like tho. :-D

No problem, just letting you know. Theres just no new news anymore....it's all been said. There IS a post from someone else on another forum saying she heard something from a Hinkly employee about it. It supposedly wasn't an outright confession, but a hint that it IS real and will debut in the 1st quarter of 08. Thats the only new thing i've heard about it in a long while, and while it gets the blood going a bit i'm also a bit thick skinned when i hear new things because out of all the babble so far nothing really solid has ever been exposed. But if what she was told is true, then we still have almost a year before we see it. I sure hope it is revealed by the time the 98 EFI speedmasters hit the showroom because i'm very interested in trading for one of those if the 1500 isn't a reality. Imagine how i'd feel if i bought one of those and a month later an incredible 1500 was debuted ! I could be kicking the chair out from under me. :-D

I understand the 1500cc,But I wonder what style of engine.Vertical Twin?Triple ?I wonder?Twin shaft drive .It almost sounds in appearance like a Harley look but of course the sleek lines of the SM sort of resemble too.

The good news is that the majority of what i've read recently is that it's a twin like a larger speedy or america but possibly shaft drive. But i the past there were a lot of rumors about a 2/3 rocket engine or a "baby rocket". But that rumor seems to have faded and the most recent ones that seem to at least have thier roots in more reality via talking to triumph employees who've leaked bits here and there about it being a "larger speedy or america" with various possible changes like the shaft i mentioned. as for water cooling, i doubt it unless they had too. some say they would at 1500. But i don't see why considering that air cooled harleys with about that size with engines get by, and thier design is one of the worse when it comes to air cooling with the one cylinder in back of the other out of the airstream.

Twin Towers,Dude! I'm gonna wait ride the wave and if it is a reality I'll sell speedy to my son or hopefully keep it or get rid of my wife (Don't tell my wife yet) My main concern is keeping the bikes! Whoops! Did I say that? :-D
