One of the vaccumm nipple rubbers blew off on start up today, the bike was hot after a fun run and when I started her back up the rubber nipple went a good 15ft, made a good poping sound too when she blew off, I found it stuck it back on and rode home. I figure it's time for some new ones, they all look a bit dry and starting to crack. Of course I never noticed till now.

Thanks for all the great advice and bikes I see on this site, awesome.

My Bonnie needs just a little throttle when warm/hot starting. None when cold though, just choke.

Funny, mine always bounced off the tank bottom and I could always find it on the engine somewhere. Well, once I realized that's what was happening. Lost a few before I wised up. Bought from a auto parts place and those didn't stay on. Brought from Triumph and haven't blown one since.

Try taking a small ziptie and placing it around the bottom of the plug. Or try taking a length of hose and using it as a jumper between the vacuum port's on the manifolds....zip tied as well.

Like SCC - I've used hose from right to left ports. No problem. Whether this actually smooths out the idle ... well, I won't start that debate again. The good news is, if you blow a nipple off the carb, you can always replace two of them with a piece of rubber tubing run between the carbs.

I've lost two in the last week. They are getting zip tied tonight.

I used one from an auto parts store with no problem. BTW, this post title would be a bad thing to search on Google. I wouldn't even try.

Like SCCTrim mentioned...I've been using a length of rubber fuel line hose as a jumper between the vacuum ports since I've had my Bonnie and it works great. Kind of acts like an "Auto Synch" for the carbs and it did improve idle.
