Well, I'm supposed to be getting my T100 back (FINALLY) after getting hit by a Lincoln Navigator in February. I'm quite excited, as you might imagine, but having had my bike out of commission for so long, there's the secondary effect that my Bike Mod Fund is flush with cash. I've already ordered a new jacket and some saddlebags, but I really want to ARK it. Thing is, I was raised to be... well, I prefer to be called thrifty, but frak it, I'm cheap. It's torture enough to spend money on this kit to take something OFF my bike, but it's even worse to have to PAY TO HAVE IT INSTALLED!
And that's why I come to you, O helpful Triumph community: will someone in the area help me do this? I'll gladly supply you with beer, smokes, whatever, so long as it comes out to less than the standard $80/hour labor fee. ...Christ, just saying that number aloud makes my spine do the hippy-hippy shake.
Please help!

Hey, Clutch. What timeframe were you looking at? I live in San Diego, work in Orange County. I will be moving up in the next couple weeks. If you want to do it after the 6th/7th, I'd be down with helping you out.

So Cal Triumph charged me $120 or 1.5 hours labor to jet my bike. When you count the 4 hours it would have taken me to get it right, not counting the time to add the mods, I think I came out ahead.
Trust me, I am cheap too. I just flushed the transmission on my Ford, but sometimes you have to look at the total cost.
I am close if you are looking for some help, but I don't know reading plugs all that well.

Mid-July, most likely. I won't be getting my bike back till the end of the week, and then I'm leaving for my vacation in NorCal on the 30th (drat the timing!). Any time after I get back (7/6-7) would be ideal. Of course, since you're the one going out of your way, I'm more than happy to work around your schedule.

Fair enough, but I've been quoted $240-something just for the labor on this, and I just can't rationalize that. I mean, that's half the racing carb (my most probable next mod), or a fifth of the paint job I have in mind. Besides, by pulling from you lot for help, I get to make new friends! Or enemies. Both are good, right?

Well, the NARK is ordered. The turnaround on my last purchase (D&D reverse cones) was a little slow, but my package should definitely arrive before I get back from NorCal. How very exciting.

Is 3 a crowd in this case. I also live in SoCal (San Gabriel Valley) and just ordered the NARK, AI removal and Staintune Reverse Cones from Brent. My local Triumph shop won't do the work since it's not EPA/CARB certified, which I understand. If you wind up doing it, mind if I join you? I could bring my motorcycle lift and lots of tools if it makes it easier. I could meet you guys down in OC. The dates you've mentioned sound good to me.

Why does someone always have to make this a manhood issue? I jetted all my race bikes, I'm just tired of it. I figure two hours of my time is worth much more than the dealer wanted for this. Plus they use a gas analyzer, I know it's spot on. It's not always that someone can't do it, I choose not to do some things.
Now if I had your 904, no one would touch it but me.
