a few weeks ago i was on the verge of unloading my bonneville out of frustration. thanks to the support that i've gotten from a lot of you guys, that didn't happen.

the problem was probably a loose connection between the plug wire and ignition coil... when i removed the tank, the plug wire almost fell off - that's how loose it was. i tightened the terminal collar and slipped it over the nipple of the new coil i bought.

do i regret buying a new crankshaft position sensor, procom brainbox, and nology coil? no - because now i have aftermarket performance parts installed and stock spares that probably work (except maybe the coil).

thanks for the excellent suggestions and moral support. time to ride.

~m

I can't take any credit for chipping in on that one, but I'm glad you got it fixed and even glader you didn't sell it.
Which means you're still one of us.

I seem to remember your mechanic played a part in your frustration. Just curious if you told him how simple of a problem you really had and what his response was.
