Still awaiting a delivery date for my T100, but while I was at the dealer I noticed a chrome bolt on the exhaust pipe on the bonnies, about half way down, near the front. It doesn't hold anything to the pipe on the outside, does it secure something inside? Just curious, can't see anything in the Haynes manual.

Just a pollution control check point.Serves no purpose in "real" life except to snag your sponge on wash day.

Thanks Rodburner. I wondered if it might be something like that. It's been peeing with rain all day here and I've nothing better to do than find out what that stupid bolt's for :-D

Same here. I took 4 days off and got in an hour ride yesterday evening. Raining days bore me so I mod stuff for no reason. Making fender mounts today to suspend some fenders I got from Hooligan.Think I`m gonna go back to the fat lowrider style for a while. The way my bike looks now, other bikers expect me to go faster than I like to and are always trying to run me on the back roads. Its fun to live up to the visual hype once in a while, but takes half the fun out of the ride when you get smoked by some twit with a real backroad bike [R6 yesterday] and more balls than brains.

Snap johntog.

I'm just up the road in surrey, I really love this forum, but I prefer riding my Bonnie.

I dunno if you're interested but i just posted under the heading.

"UK ride Outs? Let's get it together".

Cut to the chase and go straight to it in the rides and events forum if you are.
I'm determined to meet some of you guys one way or another.

The little bolt is like a "mood ring". It will start changing colour to a dark yellow and then a deep bluish colour.

If the rain doesn't stop the same might happen to me

The bolts plug a hole used for measuring the carbon monoxide in the exhaust. This tells you if the bike is running lean or rich. To tune the bike correctly, you want the carbon monoxide level at 1000 RPMs to be between 5.5 and 6.0.
