So I took my time and did the AI removal. Easy as pie actually and thanks go out to a forum member that provided pictures. While doing this I found two things that didnt seem to have a home ... One is this nipple that has no associated hose. Looks like it might be a crank case breather but ???

Mystery Nipple

The next is a plug that had silicon in its connectors. Now I am directionally challanged so I often ride with a gps mounted on my handebars Is this a power source?

Mystery Plug

Thank you again for any help!
Alex

The nipple thing is part of the AI. Remove it, and plug the hole in the air box (where that hose goes).
Not sure on the electrical plug.

I posted the same question awhile ago about the mystery electrical plug. The general consensus was that it was a plug in for the optional Triumph alarm system.

Mystery plug is for the auxiliary power socket, not the alarm (not that it really matters for this post)... I've installed both.

Are you Sure Aaron?? This nipple didnt have any hose going to it .. it was just there. I cant find any hose on teh stuff I pulled off that would have went to it?

THere was no hose going to it and I checked all the hoses that were attached to the Reed. There was no mention of it in the instructions that came with the AI kit and there was no mention of it in the pictorial in this thread ..

Ai removal

Let me know... I certainly dont want to mess up my new bike!

The reason I told you to take it off, is because I removed mine, along with those cannisters on the bottom of the bike. Full instructions HERE

I'll be around for about an hour longer if you have any more questions. I'm no expert but I know the basics.

I don't know why, but this thread has me chuckling.

Edited to add: I'll see if I can ID those bits in the service manual...

Also, you can leave that stuff as is. It's not hurting anything.
