Is it me or is there a special tool required for plug removal? Will a thin wall plug socket work or is there more to it than that?

Thanks guys

I don't know if a thin wall will work, but I bought an 18mm sparkplug socket from Sears, it even has a little rubber spacer inside it to support/protect the top of the sparkplug.

I put my socket to a grinder for a bit and it works nicely.

Craftsman rules! I did the same thing. but the one I bought did not have the rubber thing, I made one for it out of a hose washer. I have had to buy all new metric tools since getting my Thruxton. Not that I did not have any, just needed shiny new ones before they got to touch the bike. :-D

Gee, I have a craftsman as well as 2 others and none will work. I'll get to work on the grinder. At least I'm not looking for whitworth wrenches again.

Thanks,

+1
I also have the Craftsman 18mm sparkplug socket. It was actually cheaper then their standard 18mm socket.

I used the spark plug socket supplied in the Triumph tool kit.
It's rather cheap looking , but it works well.
