As a part of the deal to welcome a new bike into the garage I had to agree to a new helmet as well. I checked out quite a few online and decided on a Nolan N42. I liked the looks of the "VPS" as they call it. It has a really neat really dark visor that you can raise or lower. It also has a slightly tinted full face shield which I have removed. I have worn full face helmets on ocassion but prefer an open face. I know a lot of guys don't wear helmets at all but I find it a bit more comfortable at speed to wear one. Even in humid central Florida.
If you're in the market for a new one, check out the Nolan lineup.

I was going to buy the Nolan N30 for its retro look - and a shield, but it has no vents. I wound up with a HJC CL33. Looks pretty close to the Nolan but with vents - and $50 cheaper too.

I have the N42 as well. My first helmet was full face but I wear glasses and it was a hassle so I switched to the nolan.

I really like the sunshield and the quick release chin strap thing, but I wish it vented a little better.

Overall, I'd probably buy it again given the choice based on the sunshield alone.

Just got an N42 also and I really like it. The VPS system works great and I too wear glasses-no problem at all.
