I removed the kneepads from the scoot, and I really like the result. The Triumph "petrol" tank is easily one of the most identifiable, and most stylish, in the world of motorcycling. Now, the gloss black continues from the front to the tapered rear. It is definitely a cleaner look. The pads, although themselves stylish, broke this continuity with their flat black appearance.
When I first saw the T100's sporting these pads, I did like the novelty of them; it reminded me of the older Triumphs. My Meridian bikes, 70's vintage, never had kneepads, so I suppose I got used to the look. And I'll have the pads should I want a different look. No pads, no funky reflectors, no antler mirrors [CRG's

]. All I need now is a lay flat gauge bracket, ala D9, new bars, and a new signal/taillight set up [NB] and the bike ought to look pretty trim.
Life is good.
