I have 06 speedy with stock pipes and baffles removed . Sounds great and not too noisy. I really like the look of the 07 model with slash cut pipes. Performance is no big issue for me I just like to cruise around so do not want to spend big $'s on aftermarket pipes just for the look. Has anyone slash cut their stock pipes and did it make them louder ? Any problems with this mod ? :hammer:

If you use the search function there are quite a few posts on TOR's, Thunderbikes, Staintune and Baffelectomy's. I got the dealer to put short slash cut TOR's on my bike with jetting and filter changes included and total cost was $856.00. I am happy with the sound and if ever pressured by the boys in blue, I can always put the originals back on. This would be an important consideration should the bike have to under go a road worthy for sale as well.
Hope that helped. Best of luck with the mods.

I think he's asking about making the speedy's bullet end pipes into slash cut by cutting them. I suppose you could, But you might wanna first try and find a set of america slash cuts in the classifieds here and at the bonnevilleamerica.com forum. Or even ask if anyone has some to sell. I asked once and got a few offers including a "like new" set real cheap........$80 or something like that if i recall.

Yes am thinking of cutting my bullet ends off. Used pipes go for $200.00 + here in Australia on ebay.

I thinking that if you already have the baffles out of the stock set then all you will be doing is opening up the end of the pipe to a larger diameter. You could cut them to look like slash cuts. If it ends up too noisy then you could tack weld in a washer with the same size hole as your pipes before you removed the tail end.
Does this make sense ?

Derek

I have a set of stock speedmaster pipes that are just taking up space in my garage. I suppose the shipping to oz would make any deal not cost effective though.

Decided what the hell and have just cut the ends off at 45 degrees looks and sounds great. Maybe a little louder but not really a huge amount. Don't know what I was worried about now.
