I high sided the bonnie and have bent the gear shift shaft.

Has anyone removed the gear shifter shaft on a 865 bonnie? I have removed the engine casing and circlips on the shaft but the shaft still wont come out. Does anyone know how to get it out? Also if someone has replaced one how much?

I haven't pulled it out but I did have a look in the manual.
It looks like it has to come out from the right hand side after the counter shaft sprocket and gearchange mechanism cover have come off.
If you have tried this and it still won't come out then I would suggest that it being bent is keeping it in place. You will have to cut it off or straighten it some how.

Good Luck
Do you have the Triumph workshop manual?

I haven't pulled the shaft yet, but I did have to reset both circlips after my son dumped Bonnie on the shifter in the driveway. If you don't have a shop manual try this bikebandit link to see an exploded diagram of the shifting mechanism.

I'd get a copy of a good maintenance manual before I started cutting on any part of the shifting mechanism.

Good luck
