Had my front disk on the Scrambler replaced about 3 weeks ago. Now it feels warped again., so I ran a dial gauge over it and getting about 0.3mm runout - which is the service limit. Then tried the dial gauge over the outside face of the hub, just inside where the disk mounts. This is showing 0.08mm runout.
Questions:
Anybody else been in this situation where discs keep warping and the hub is found to be at issue?

Anybody know what the specified runout for the hub is ? It is not in the factory manual.

Cheers
PfM

If you use the front brake hard (I do), there can a be problems with disk warping. I decided after only 500 miles to change my front rotor and pads. EBC makes a nice replacement for the stock ones. The rotor is a full floater and greatly helps with disk warping problems.

Rotor- EBC MD649LS
Pads- EBC FA196HH

Check for the wheel being true also. Spokes might need tweaking a bit. I doubt the hub is warped.

Yes there is experience with this. Repeated warped discs are indicative of a hub problem requiring replacement.
