I did the 40% reduction on my Insurance and registration but no laminate, I should do that! I keep it in my back pocket with DL and some cash. I feel the same about keeping a cop waiting while doing some wrenching to get your proof out, not a good idea.

Marty,
I cleaned off the blue before a rejet a couple of years ago (so I'd be able to tell if I was too lean). The blueing came back, but just a little. I guess the mixture is okay...the bike runs well and even on hot days there is no popping on overrun.

Here In the UK I'd never leave my documents on my bike in case they got stolen. After all you don't want anyone riding round on your bike with proof of ownership.

1. Your insurance company would want to know why the hell you had done such a fool thing.

2. It's just one more thing towards identity theft.

So I always keep em on my person in an inside pocket.

Whilst visiting Oregon,
I did however learn about opening my jacket by the lapels and showing a cop It was my documents and not a gun I was gonna remove from my inside pocket.
When he mistook my movements and held put his gun to my girls head.

"Welcome to America"

So thats worth remembering.

Jon UK.

By the time I get the documents out from under the seat I will have talked the cop into submission.
That's my plan, anyway....
Always meant to get on of those license plate stash boxes, I forget the name, you'll see them around..
ah, here's one:

Other Motorcycle: Unfortunately not
Extra Motorcycle: Would love a Speed Triple
The female riders out there probably keep their documents same place as the "Lamborghini babes" in Cannonball Run. Sure is a good way to keep the cop smiling.
