So roughly a month ago, I changed out the stock exhausts on my 2005 t-100 to the predators. I changed the main jets to 125's and left the pilots at 40. It ran incredibly strong with no issues whatsoever for about two weeks. I then started to notice there were some hesitations or flat spots when i was accelerating around 2500-3000 rpm in first and second gear. Also, on occasion, when idling, which usually happens between 1000 and 1100 rpm, it will just drop to about 500, sometimes come back to 1100 and sometimes just die.

From what I've read, maybe it has something to do with the idle mixture? I don't have a d-tool, but I ordered one yesterday.

Any insight would be appreciated. Thank you gentlemen!

While I'm at it, I don't mean to pile on the issues, but on occasion at take off and downshifting, i get a high pitched squeal when i release the clutch. What the heck?

yeah, loosen, sorry. make sure they're turned out equally.

I usually tighten mine all the way down, then count turns as I back them out. If you do that make sure you count how much you're turning them in so you know how much to turn them out. They're pretty sensitive, so think in terms of 1/4 turns when trying to find the sweet spot.

Also, it's a good idea to have the bike warm when you're tuning the idle screws. If the bike is cold it will run well even even if it's tuned too rich, it acts like a choke (or 'enricher' circuit), so you won't know it's running bad (bogging) until it warms up. Better a little lean than rich on the pilot screw, IMHO, and a little decel popping is ok as long as it's a little...

For a while I carried my "D" tool with me all the time, it took a few days to tune it right.
