I've been reading through this forum, and I know there are a million opinions on silencers. I think I've come to a conclusion, and will go with the Staintune Reverse Cones. I've got a question. Do I need to re-jet, and if so, what sizes have people had success with. I haven't decided about removing the airbox or AI. What does everyone think?

Thanks!

For a long time I was running stock jetting with the Staintunes and no airbox/filter mod. For the most part, despite definitely being on the lean side, the bike ran fine. I was getting all sorts of fantastic popping on decel too. Some don't like that but I loved it. Only problem with this set up was difficulty getting the bike started in the morning when is was below 40 deg out. You'd probably benefit by going to 42 pilots and maybe 115 mains, but don't feel that you have to. She'll run fine with the stock jetting until you decide on what to do with the airbox.

I've since gutted the airbox and installed K&N's. When I did that I went to 42 pilots and 130 mains. I definitely got a little more "oomph" by doing this and she's running better than ever. Cold starts are not a problem now but I think I'm still a little on the lean side under throttle and will probably end up going up another size or two on the mains.

I too have the reverse cones and still using the stock jetting.

i've replaced the filter with a K&N and opened the air box up a bit.
still using the snorkel as with out it it was very lean and didn't run well.

So i'm looking to rejet when I work up the nerve to work on the carbs.

enjoy the new toys =)

Hey mate, I've got staintune cones on my '06 model and it ran a bit ***** after that, coughing and spluttering.

I just took the tank off, tore out the AI and since then it's has ran beautifully!
Before I did though, I called the triumph dealer to ask about rejetting and what they did with new pipes and they said - "all we do is remove the AI and that's it. We never rejet. AI fixes it every time"

So there you go.

You will be very happy with the staintunes. I'm not a rich man but I would happily pay up to 5k for those pipes - they're that perfect. Not a day goes by that I don't wake up and say to myself 'thank god I bought staintunes'. :-D
