In the last 10 years I've had 4 bikes-
72 Bonneville 120V which I had for ten years *wish i never sold it. It ran very well and handled pretty good in the twisties. felt light, but was a little squirrely. Then I got a new Kaw 1100GPZ. Incredibly fast, and very nice looking in a plastic sort of way. You had to literally muscle the bike around. Wore me out and made my hands go to sleep. Sold it when I realized I'd have to adjust the valve clearance & stuff. Way too much trouble on that bike. Next I bought an 883 Hugger and put a 1200 kit on it ($360 from HD & put it on in an afternoon), with a few other mods. It was low and would run circles around the other harleys I rode with. Handled well, but you had to manhandle it around the bends. I am pretty good at that, but you don't know the difference til you ride the new Bonnie. Got discouraged when a grandma pulled up next to me on a $35000 chopper. Man, every baby boomer seems to have one. Traded it for a Porsche. Next I got an old Honda 750. Enough about that. It did run well for a 30 year old. Almost gave it to a newbe biker. In 03 I bought a 75 Norton Commando. Very Beautiful and handled better than any of the above. Fast Fast and black. Got LOTS of attention wherever I rode. You know the drill. Traded it last Month for my T100 and $200 (for ins. & tags) . I have rediscovered motorcycling. It's such a pleasure to ride. Smooth, good power stock. Just think about a curve and it does it automatically. I'm not the least embarrassed to ride with the High Dollar sleds. I think mine looks better. Looks Right. The guys on the BIg Dogs ground off their muffs and license plate on the last ride I was on. I seem to get a lot of looks from other cruiser riders. Some ask if its restored, some ask me how I like it. Most are too embarrassed to ask and just ignore me.

By the way if there are any NW Arkansas riders here Look me up & Lets ride. If you're not from here we have the BEST riding roads, you look me up too and I'll show you.

Ya Know You just never know till you try it.

I like sportsters over the big bikes. Guess bI'm a"classic sports" rider, but I'm over 50 and have slowed a bit. The sportster is probibly the easiest bike to work on ever. I'm not kidding, it took me 3 hours to install the new top end, free flowing muffs and a jet. Made a tremendous difference immediately. I got on a rode 200 miles to Hot Springs with nary a weep of oil or anything. Then rode all weekend with the buds there. Well, I must say that I've done top end jobs many times before, but even a novice could do the job in short order if he;s careful. Tell me about that 904 kit. How's that installation? Costs a lot more than the 1200 sporty kit. (funny how cheap the kit was, but you have to pay thousands more to get a stock 1200.)
Thanks!
