Sweet bike!
I would keep it in stock condition.
A friend here has the same bike. Centennial and pre-fire with 1 mile on the odometer. Bought it, trailered it home, and placed in the living room under a plexiglass cover as an investment.
I kid you not!
He has an 01 that he rides on a daily basis.
The dude loves his Triumphs.
Don't paint it black.

I actually do paint bikes for chopper guys. I wont paint this one. I like black, but though this is a rider, I'm gonna keep the stock look. I mean, This is the way it was designed. I think the man who designed it is John Mockett in the UK. Anybody know that for sure? Most people never know the name of the faceless person who designs their pride & joys.

Beautiful bike! I'm with those (and you)... who like the stock colors. Everywhere you look, you'll see black bikes, and I've had 3 myself. I now have the opal/tangerine T100 and never got so many compliments! I love having something a bit different. But, most of all, I love riding it. Plenty of power and the handling is surprisingly good.

Congrats, and enjoy.

If you want to get some sound from the silencers, get some Hyde Togas (also called Classics) and leave the stockers stock. The Hydes look just like the stockers except a bit shorter (maybe 5"). To the extent that the bike is unusual, it's worth preserving the ability to take it back to stock form, plus the Hydes are much better sounding and functioning than bored out stockers. Man, that's a beautiful bike!

Staintune make nice peashooter and reverse cones with a freakin fabulous sound and you can keep the originals.

That's a great looking bike!

This is an old thread But I want to bring it back because everyone is breathing heavy about the handeling. I have an 02 and a 76 and I think the 76 handles much better at slow speeds. The 02 feels heavy and the wheel wants to "flop" over starting a turn from stop or slow speed. I have to push back on the bars to keep it from turning more. The 76 feels like a bicycle . I could ride with no hands.
The 02 also "hops around" at speed like I'm in a rut or crossing a grate bridge. Crossing a thick dotted line in the road feels like ice. its shakes around at speed like it's being blown around by wind. Maybe its' the stock tires and shocks and no steerring damper. but I'm not liking it and don't think I should have to spend money to make it handle right. It is beautiful though. In fact I'm thinking about selling it and putting the money into getting the 76 running right. (no electric start is the only thing holding me back, old knees).

Brilliant color. Love it.. Hope Triumph gets more colors for the bonnie next year. Not too keen on the black an white combo. and the creamsicle look is not for me. more of a Maroon and silver or a Blue an Silver kinda guy. just my pref.

I dont agree about the handling psen. I've had several older triumphs and they do handle great, depending on the setup. Lighter feeling for sure. I have not had the hopping and flop over problems, It just feels very steady and planted. Now, the rear shocks are a little soft, but i have them all the way up. If it handles this well stock, hows it going to be really set up?
