When given the opportunity, I couldnt pass up a ride on a 2003 v-rod. It was a life changing experience that left me where I started. The riding position-strange-not like a cruiser, more like bonny but with your feet just a little further forward..midway between the 2 styles, and in itself was not too bad. The engine sounds great, and has a freight train rush of acceleration that could be highly intoxicating..in a strait line. When will they ever get those things (hd) to handle? 15 minutes later, I was longing to be on my bonneville, thinking, on a good day we could take this thing....yeah right!! she tried her wily magic 4 cam tricks, provoked outrage with her aluminum tank and odd-ball headlight..but I still would honestly not trade, unless it would be to sell the v-rod and buy 2 triumphs

Totally agree with you. Apart from that adrenaline rush acceleration the V Rod has nothing to offer over the Bonnie.
My Triumph dealer had a V rod for sale that had been traded - says it all :-D

I'd take a Vmax over a Vrod anyday. The Vmax sounds much cooler, the Vrod sounds like a honda shadow.

And not to be in the HD crowd. No offense, just not my style.

It'll handle when they make one like this:
The Roehr uses the V-Rod engine, but in an actual sporting chassis. It's interesting, but my guess is that it'll never get off the ground. Too bad - for now we're stuck with Buells.

dont worry about the hd crowd. they seem to like triumphs better than v-rods, for some strange reason

I'm surprised that by now, the V Rod engine hasn't been offered to Eric Buell for use in a sport bike or sport tourer.
