Found a dealer who says they have a new '06 Bonneville Black in the crate that will let it go out the door for $6990. Sounds like a decent deal to me... Not sure how they got a new '06 in here in May of '07. Also said it has the 790cc engine. Should I consider this with the TORs and other performance upgrades (upgrades not included in the out the door price) or is an '07 a better option?

Plan to go test ride one there tomorrow as they have an '06 bonnie Black demo with 400 miles on it. Looking forward to trying one of these out.

Greg

Greg,

I have a recollection that all bonnies went to 865 beginning in '06 so the BB may actually be an '05. But that's maybe not a bad thing because lotsa folks on this site will tell you that the 790s have better cams. If the bike really is new, the displacement difference should not be an issue at all.

So after you confirm the actual year (serial number should tell for sure), all that's left is the price point. If you want to know what alternative prices are, lots of us have used cycletrader.com. That will tell you for sure.

Gut feel is that $7K stock is OK. If you fall in love with the bike, $7K will start to feel like a steal.

Why not?

I think it is a pretty good deal. I paid $7699 OTD for my 07 and I felt lucky as there weren't alot of the Bonnie Blacks. Plus I think people pretty much have the 790's dialed in with the mods.

Just my .02.

Ken

If that is the out the door price it's a good deal. 06 is the last year for the 790 motors, all twin's are now 865's.

...take the 790

Yep, that was the OTD price. Here is what they sent for a quote for the bike and these aftermarket upgrades:

Bike - $6299
TORs - $435
Dynojet Kit - $85
AI removal - $22
sub total - $6841

Tax/tag/title - $479
freight/setup - $250
labor - $212

Total OTD price for bike and mods - $7782

Or, $6990 for the bike with no mods.

Think I will do it.

Greg
