hi guys I have a long trip coming up and I would appreciate some information.
I have the dart screen fitted at present and it does a good job at keeping the wind off the chest area, but as its a fly screen it has its limitations, as we all know it deflects a lot of turbulence into the helmet and a has a lot of buffeting around the shoulders.
but iam happy with it around town , I would like another screen for the long haul and givi has a huge range of screens I would prefer to go with one of there screens, the big American made screens don't exist here in aus and the cruiser Harley sceens don't appeal to me, and i don't really want a screen that big.
so what this long winded post is all about is there a givi that works...

hi, RonD

I bought the Givi XA600: works ok. Take care to adjust the angle of the screen to avoid buffetting, meaning you'll still feel some wind. I found out that bending the supporting rods at app. 7cm from the end towards the screen ( tough bstrds, use something to protect the finish) gives a complete free view on the instruments-just a tiny bend needed.
As can be seen in the pic there are two small bolts drilled in the black plastic bottom edge; since there are only two support points the screen originally tends to flap and rattle on the headlamp shell. Now it's tied down with two pieces of shoelace between the bolts and the headlamp bolts- hardly noticeable, no more noise.
Grtz, Thieu
PS: second pic is before tieing down the bottom- still have to insert the black plastic bolthead covers: adjust the screen, try out for best positioning-then cover up bolts. I had to pry the little so and so's out again a couple of times...

I've had a Givi on my SV for several years, and I couldn't be happier with it. I don't know the model, but it has four mounting bolts, not just two, and it's solid and stable at any speed.

I have a smaller givi universal that has two mounting tabs to be bolted where the headlite goes, it is only a tad larger than a flyscreen and works pretty well, imho
