I have a Triumph Locking cap on my scrambler and everything was fine for last 3 months. Went to open it this morning and the ***** thing had been sucked on tighter than a ducks a*se. I never tighten it to the first click. The problem then was that when trying to use a "boa constrictor" jar opener to get it off, the rachet snapped and it wouldn't undo at all. At least if i had the stock non-locking version on, this wouldn't of been a problem. Had to go back to the dealer this morning on the way to work and get them to remove it. Pain in the hole!
I think i'll go back to using the stock cap and undo it every 20 miles before a vacuum builds up!!! Maybe triumph should think about making a cap with a press valve in it to release the pressure. Just a thought

The monza cap looks like a good idea. Can anyone tell me the correct size to use for this on a bonnie? I've seen 2 inch, 2 1/2 inch and 2 3/4 inch. I take it thats the diameter of the top rather than the diameter of the thread? :???:

Guys, if you'll just use the stock cap, tighten it only until it's a little snug and not all the way to the click, I really don't think you'll have any further problems. Of course if you simply prefer the appearance of the Monza, that's another story.

Other Motorcycle: Also like Ducati S2R 1000
Extra Motorcycle: Would like Street Triple
+1 for Triumph locking gas cap, it is about twice as high and easier to grab.

If you order your Monza fuel cap from Mototwin it will come complete with the appropriate size adapter, sealing rings, and cap.
