Heres a solution to the standard cap. Carry a jar opener with you and it helps a lot. Maybe after a while it will loosen up and you won't need it anymore.

I would never turn mine until it clicks. It is tight enough without doing that.

The pipes are Stainless steel that I won off Ebay for $65 shipped and the mufflers are Predators.

Nothing says British like an Enots/monza cap.

I like the idea of the Monza-type cap, but I'm afraid it might be too "tall" and
thus prevent my magnetic tank bag from getting a good grip.
Can anyone confirm this concern?

(I've already removed the spring from the OEM cap to prevent the potential
for "seizure," thanks to the advice of RonD and Blackjack earlier today.)

Alright so I think I'm going to get the Monza cap. Question is polished or chrome on a green standard bonneville?

Do the polished. Never rust and you can remove the clear coat and buff it out to a near chrome finish. Chrome might flake and then rust, scratches won't come out. All that said, I have the chrome, but I bought mine used, came from the factory with flaws in the chrome.
