Yes, 6th ave place. Now....Although I like the pipes, I did not just get them at TORs' price don't get me wrong. They've made a mistake which I saw the minute I walked by my bike and told them about it. I have REALLY mixed feelings about this place now. I do understand that this is probably the busiest delearship in this country in terms of both :sales and service. And it can adversly affect the quality of service each bike gets, since they can have work orders and parts all mixed up in a hurry.

Dude, you are about the most mild-mannered guy I've ever seen post on this forum thus far. "Mixed feelings"?! I'd be furious! You paid a premium price, you should get premium service. Next time I stop in that dealer, I'll think twice before I buy anything from them

I am going to get them back. But why should I be asking for it? I mean...you work on the bike, put all of the old parts into the new part box and remaining, not installed pieces, should also be there. How difficult that can be, if you are well organized? If not, should I trust you with my bike?

When I had Myers of Asheville NC install my Togas and pipes they packed neatly in the box my Togas came in my old sewing machine pipes, and the rear baffles from the Togas, still unwrapped. Since the bike was there I had them replace the air filter with a K&N, and they returned my old one also. Great bunch of guys :-D :chug:

Judging by how cool most of the guys on here are.
How about asking if anyone on here has a set of uninstalled staintune mutes they could let you have for a small nominal fee.
I'm sure there must be someone who didn't fit em.
Just an idea.

I'm confused. Did you pay the Staintune price for the Staintune pipes or get some kind of mistake-based deal on them? While I agree that the Staintunes are nice pipes, if they are not right for you, they aren't right. Only you can decide whether to press for the TORS.
Regarding the dealer and their handling of it, I too would be hesitant to do more business with them, partly because I've heard of other problems with Triumph/Ducati of NYC and because there are other dealers in your area who seem to provide better service. As for the stockers, get them back. You never know what lays ahead, and you may need them. You might sell the bike in a few years to someone who insists on a quiet exhaust, or you might buy another Bonnie in a few years and want to put the stockers back on before trade-in/selling and put the Staintunes on the new bike. For all you know, the stockers are listed on ebay now, or soon will be. There is usually a take-off set of stockers on ebay, for sale by a dealer who replaced them with aftermarket pipes. Or they hang onto them until someone comes in with dinged up stockers, then they put yours on and charge the poor fella for (very expensive) new stockers. Paranoid, maybe, put it's standard practice to return functional replaced parts to the owner.

badrufus,
agree with every word you said. I will get them (the old ones) back tonight. I did get some dollars off of the Staintunes price because of the mix-up, but not much. They did not mind putting TORs on instead, but it would take another day and the madhouse commute to work and from work to pick it up again. So I just gave up.
I have already ridden the bike home last night with staintunes, so I will keep 'em.. They ARE nice and I enjoy the sound while not in my neighbourhood , but there it becomes pain.
My parking spot is under my apartment building, so there is a family living right above it and I feel really bad even starting my vespas in the morning. Secondly, if I were to roll it out, the exit is uphill, so it would be really tough for me to get to the street level without breaking sweat or using throttle for at least a little bit.

I'm with Road Dog. The dealer owes you all the parts. They belong to you, not him, unless you made a deal. You might want or need them someday, and it sounds as if you need the baffles now.

My man - When I went to pick up my bike last night all my stock parts were carefully boxed up and put in my wife's SUV! They told me when I was configuring my mods that the parts that come off are paid for and they are mine to do whatever I please with. Get your parts dude! These creeps sound like they don't appreciate your business.

make sure you install both washers when you put the mutes in and do the screws up snug. They are heaps quieter with them in.
