And I can only assume that it smashed into hundreds of pieces when it hit the freeway tarmac at 70mph. It was the right side mirror that fell out of the bar end...yep, the whole thing. It loosened first, then I noticed the mirror had tilted down...thinking it was the wind that blew it that way, I was about to reach over and reposition it, then it just fell out.

So....I need some replacement mirrors, and am thinking about the Napoleons. Do they work with aftermarket bars w/out plugs? They'd be going on the NH "Ace" bars.

Long ride today...my hands are numb, and I need to get out of this riding gear. :hammer:

As long as the ends of the bar are hollow you should be able to use Napoleons.

FWIW, the Napoleons use a squished rubber spacer to attach them to the inside of your handle bars. If for some reason that spacer doesn't work/fit you can use well-nuts instead. Well nuts are rubber 'spacers' with a thread at one end. They expand out when tightened.

You're local Ace hardware carries well-nuts. Ace only has standard thread well-nuts so you'll have to get a new bolt as well. If you end up having to use a well-nut make sure there is a spacer to put the well nut about an inch inside the bar. Otherwise it'll be too close to the end of the bar.

I am considering these mirrors because of all the difficulty in getting bar end mirrors to fit snug. I am using the (1" inside diameter) low cafe bars.

These are available for 7/8 or 1" bars.

Yeah, I used blue loctite and used the stock screws from the end caps to install my CRG's. No problems yet after 2K miles.

Thanks for the advice. I'm buying the CRG's soon. I always wondered how well they stay put without threads.

Safe Riding.

Thx for the tips. I swap the Ace and the low-cafe bars around every few months. This last time, I clearly didn't tighten up the right side mirror properly. Those CRG's are a beeootch sometimes. :hammer:

Vibration...huh? My best bet is to stay off the freeway... :kck:

Roadie...

Today I was directionless. So I went did about 100mi roundtrip on the the freeway's of SoCal. 3/4 of the way, my hands were so numb. And it wasn't that enjoyable of a ride. I prefer the back country roads of San Diego...up to Palomar Mountain to the observatory and back. Lots of twisties, and no steady 65+mph riding.

Now, if I put weights on the bars, how could bar-end mirrors be used? :???:

If anyone is interested, I have a new never used pair CRG Lane Splitters w/ adapters I'm not going to use. I'll be sending them back Wednesday unless someone here wants them. 170.00 shipped.
