Hi gang

Anyone know where I can get the chrome headlamp peak that adds that retro look?

Somewhere in the UK would be good but I don't mind getting it from the USA

Please don't suggest MotoTwin in the UK as they are as good as a chocolate teapot

Thanks

Agreed. I enquired by e mail about a £150 seat. They couldn't be bothered to answer.

It's too bad about MotoTwin. Before they changed hands they were a decent vendor. A bit high for those of us in the US, but still doable if you really wanted the part. Since the changeover, sounds like they have become pretty hit or miss.

John, try the Yamaha V-Star (Dragstar) headlight visor. It has a star logo engraved on it though.

Try JC WHITNEY. Its just a standard sized headlite on the bike.

Do you mean the chrome visor over the headlight? I bought one from Bellacorse.

I have mixed feelings about how it looks on my bike. I'm old enough to remember vintage bikes, and I've never seen one with a visor. A lot of custom cars had them in the 50's and 60's. If I'm wrong on this, someone please let me know.

If I keep it, I'm thinking about getting it powder coated black and having it pin striped or have something unique painted on it. In that way it could be an interesting focal point and less of a non functional add-on.

I certainly remember bikes with headlamp peaks in the late 60's. The ones I remember were smaller and more subtle than the photo shown above which looks IMO too large and clumsy.

Don't get the cheap plastic ones - they don't hold up. We (South Bay Triumph) sell a nice chrome plated metal one for $19.95 - they don't weigh anything, so ups will only be a $6 or $7 to ship. Let me know if you are interested.
