As I said in another thread, I decided to go with Pirelli Sport Demons as replacement tires on me bonnie lass. Here's a report of my first two rides with them:

Following the mechanic's advice to be careful on the new rubber for the first 20 or so miles (due to the tires getting really slick when first warmed up [because of the silicon mold release used coming to the surface]), I left the shop and went for a "mellow" 100 miler with "million mile an hour" corners to break them in a bit. While the corners were by no means technical, I could already tell that there was a major difference and improvement in bite and handling.

Then the following day, the fun began! I went for a ride up, arguably, one of the best routes in California...Hwy 1 between Cambria and Monterey. In particular, the 15 or so miles between (just south of) Ragged Point and Gorda are nothing less than pure, unadulterated, glorious twisties (with unbelievable views of the Pacific to boot). (If you've been on that road before, you know what Willis is talkin' 'bout!) I just could not believe how much the tires stick to the road. It is simply amazing! I can't tell you how much that alone improved my confidence in the corners.

So, if you're at all considering new the Sport Demons, I cannot recommend them enough. I can't comment on their mileage (although Chris [CynCrzr] says he gets on average about 4k on the rear), but following Chris and Bob (Boboso), I don't care...they friggin' stick!

Cheers & safe riding.
