I just got back from a 10 state, 1,916 mile ride and the more miles I put on my 06 speedy the better it gets.

I found her running at lower RPM's, and getting better gas mileage.

I actually had to lower the idle down a bit the further south I rode.

Averaging around 400 miles a day, she just asked for more.

My 06 is stock with a high screen and saddlebags.

I am going to upgrade the seat as it was not great for the wife but when I rode solo, it was just awesome.

Sir, if you made your wife ride on the stock gunfighter/gunslinger seat for that long, you best be buying her roses!

The Triumph touring seat is a big improvement. With a sissy bar even better.
Add a sheepskin butt pad as needed.

I did the same thing last summer and when my wife didn't like the stock seat and complained, I made her hitchhike to the next state. She got a ride with a rich dude in a white Rolls Royce and I haven't seen her since! Now, who's going to wax my bike and lube my chain?? It would have been easier to get the solo seat and the pillion seat for her and then I wouldn't have to pump my own gas!! (euphemisms are deliberate)

Atually she rode with her dad on a 98 goldwing trike about 75% of the time. she called it a caddy.

I am going to upgrade to the solo seat and the touring pillion.

And yes I did buy her roses.

I upgraded my gunfighter seat to the touring seat after I took my wife for her first ride. Was that or replace the bike! She loves the touring seat as it puts her up higher and it slopes forward slightly. With a sissy bar to lean on shes says it is like armchair riding. The seats are really easy to swap over. So when she is not with me I put the gunfighter seat back on cause I like the way it looks.
