My wife has a new black Bonnie, but tends to both use and leave on the turn signals. Is there an after market product I can purchase and fit which will mod the turn signals on a 2007 Bonnie to self canceling? Thanks.

Go to www.newbonneville.com & look under accessories. They have a turn signal flasher that is also a turn signal timer that turns them off. I haven't used one because for $100.00 I can turn them off myself. Bob.

Thanks, Bob. I too think it rather silly but time after time she leaves them on. I'm concerned that falsely leaving them on is worse than not using them at all. -paul

This is one modification that time after time people have trouble with. I went with brighter L.E.D. lights and I can see them blinking even in bright sunlight. Also if you check Jenks Bolts...they have brighter lights and a loud annoying beeper that stays on if and when the turn signal is on (had it, and removed it)

I'd have no idea how to locate brighter LED's. I may try that loud noise, however. To me, this is a silly issue. I mean, if she left them on once or twice, fine, but time after time? I don't understand what her problem is, but I feel I need to address it.

I think it is just a matter of giving her time to figure out that she needs to turn them off. I did the same thing the first few times I rode after not having a bike for a length of time.

Gently remind her when she leaves them on. A quick pop in the back of the head with an open palm usually suffices

I'll give it a bit more time, but she's got about 700 miles on the Bonnie with this persistent problem. When I note she's not turning them off, I catch up to her with the Tiger and give a sign.

No, not THAT sign!

The product refered to that is sold by Newbonneville.com is the Signal Minder and is a simple plug and play device that replaces the turn signal module. It has three different time out intervals.
However, with a bit more work the device can be used to turn you signals into running lights that are always on and then blink when the turn signal is activated. It takes a bit of wiring (supplied), a mod to the turn indicator on the instrument cluster and a bit of work. I'm really pleased with the increased conspicuity at night.

do you forget to flush? or open a door before you walk thru it?
riding should be practiced till its 2nd nature to do the correct thing, some people only get a chance to make 1 mistake, others are more lucky. Whats so hard about hitting the darn cancel button?

I have no desire to add more silly lights to a bike. If I could, I'd turn my headlight and tail light off. I also think using signals on a bike silly. I use hand signals only which never fail to turn off.

However my wife prefers electronic signals and this thread is about her despite the rather nasty add to this thread right below your post.

I will get the device at NewBonneville if the problem persists. It costs $100 but I've already experienced $101 worth of annoyance having to watch these signals flash on and on for many miles.
