When I'm riding with others I sometimes get distracted and leave the signal on so I have the signal minder from NB and it works well at backing me up.

Buy the signal minder and be done with the problem...I have had mine on for over 18000 miles--wouldn't be without it on the bonnie. Leaving a turn signal on is the MOST dangerous thing one can do while riding a bike in traffic in Oklahoma, IMHO.
The turn signal indicator is brighter on the Tiger, so it is not nearly as bad as the bonnie; however, I would have a signal minder for the Tiger if they made one. :-D
One word about the signal minder, though: It cannot reset the manual turn signal control on the bonnie--it turns off the signal after a set number of flashes, but the rider must cancel the manual turn signal prior to turning on the turn signal for the next turn or the signal will not come on.

Thanks for the info, Larry. I'll pass that on to my wife and ask her if, given those conditions, she wishes the device.
Where is the signal relay on the 2007 Bonnie? I don't want to buy something for $100 and then spend a few days disassembling the entire bike.

I too have forgotten to turn the turn signal off on my bonnie however, usually some kind motorist lets me know this has occured. Interesting how ***** easily tolerated if commited by a friend or stranger becomes grounds for divorce it its your spouse.
Does kinda solve the "start seeing motorcycles" issue though.

I too just purchased the SignalMinder from newbonneville.com., but have yet to install it. I don't mind doing most other modifications but those that involve working with the electrical system worries me. Anyway, the thing that sold me on this product is not only does it solve the problem of forgetful-signaling but it has other features and functions that more than pays for itself.
-The running lights feature is great in theory. More visibility is never a bad thing in my book.
-The 4-way emergency flashing is good also.
-And best of all the turn off feature can be overriden with simply pressing on the brakes.
The only thing that is a con in my book is that extra rewiring is required (all the wires were included atleast) to get those extra features and as i said before...wires and electricity scare me.
Anyone actual used the SignalMinders full features and options? What's the level of dificulty?
P.S. The kit came with two springs that are to be installed in the handlebar signal switch to solve the reset issue.

I guess I should have mentioned that you can feel that the manual turn signal has not been reset when you try to signal the next time and it just takes a second to push the reset button and then push the turn signal...not too bad if you are in the habit of signalling early. I had a lot of trouble remembering to turn off the turn signal; however, I could always remember to reset the manual reset button prior to the next signal. :-D The only other thing that I can think of that is more of an annoyance than a problem is when you are at long stop lights. With the signal minder set at 20 blinks before it self cancels, you have to push the manual reset and start the signal again before the light changes--at some lights I have had to do this twice. :-D

It's easy to find dryadsdad... just remove the left side cover. Unplug the OEM signal relay and plug in the (slightly larger) Signal Minder.
However, I tried the Signal Minder myself and found it just as frustrating. If your wife has trouble remembering to turn the blinkers off, then she'll have trouble remembering to reset the blinker switch, after it self-cancels.
The best solution is to do what many of us has done. Replace the blinker indicator with a (non-polarized) 6-way LED. While you're at it, you'll want to replace the neutral and oil pressure indicators with single LEDs too.

Thanks, Dog. I'll leave it up to her which of two problems she wishes to address.
I STILL say just use *#&*#A& hand signals. Owell.

I don't want to deal with some of the issues here and am not advocating anything, but Brown Bomber wanted some tech info so I'll give it.
The device operates reliably and predictably. You do need to cancel blinking to one side to change blinking to the other side. Cancelling (if you don't want to wait for auto cancel) is done by pushing the button in the same direction as originally pushed. So, turning left then turning right: Left push... left push again to cancel. right push to signal right. Therefore, it is a bit awkward if you do a last minute change up.
I encountered three issues that complicated installation but which should not stop anyone from going ahead. Bear in mind I wanted ALL the functions - auto cancel, running lites, 4 way flashers and brake interupt (holding the brake on interrupts the countdown to cancel, so the blinking continues as long as you have the brake on)
One: The springs don't work on the bonnies switch, so you need to do a very minor grind or cut on a part of the switch. It means taking the switch apart. So yeah, you can do jetting but your scared to fiddle with a little plastic part? When done, the switch always returns to center, never locks to left or right. The little return button is now non-functional
Two: The indicator light on the instrument cluster screws up the whole scheme because it bridges the left side and the right side circuits. Simply removing the bulb cures this, or.. install a diode as a blocker, or more sensibly, install an LED to replace the bulb as the indictor - all fine.
Tech support from the manufacturer was helpful in all of this.
Three: The supplied wiring for the running light feature uses a simple clip to cut the insulation and tap into the wires. Works but I didn't trust it so after initial install and check out, I soldered them in - simple. I tapped in at the harness leading to the rear fender connector, just a few inches from the connector.
I feel alot better out there with running lights on.

I made an inexpensive signal beeper from a couple of diodes and a piezo beeper from RadioShack and mounted them in a small plastic project box on the windshield bracket of my wife's Rebel. It greatly reduced he tendency to leave the signals on and is just loud enough for cars around/beside you to hear your intentions to turn. Her Honda had spare bullet connectors for the front signals so I tapped the circuits easily there. I'm not sure what the wiring is like on the Bonnie, I'm sure I'll learn quickly when I add my running light conversion.
