Gathering info on my Thrux project. Looking at a setup that consists for:
1000 feet to sea level
Open Exhaust (Predators)
Air Box hacked with K&N's
Air Injection pulled

Jenks Suggestions for the Thruxton with the mods as stated above:
Mains = 140
Pilots = 40 (stock)
Needle Shim = 1 (where do I get one?)
Needle = NBTZ
Pilot Screw = 2.5 turns (stock)
Airhole on slide opened up to 3mm from 2.5mm

Now... Jenks has a NBZT as the STOCK needle... and has a NBTZ as the suggested needle. Anyone know if this is just a typo? (Page 10 of the Jenk's manual)

Thanks!

NBTZ is the stock needle used in the 865's. Also called Thruxton needles... don't think its a typo

No, No, No. The "Thruxton" needle, also fitted to the 865cc T100, is the NBZT. Look at the Triumph workshop manual and the Haynes book. NBTZ IS a typo in Jenks' doco. Perhaps someone should tell him, perhaps I will.

I've messed with a few bikes and their carb needles, and slight taper differences are sometimes separated in the similar manner. (letters or numbers) Yes, TZ vs ZT typo can cause a little confusion. Thanks guys.

In case anyone's interested, I had a dialog today with Jenks about another issue and asked him about the discrepancies in his tuning guide regarding needle names. He confirmed that "NBTZ" is a typo and should read NBZT. He is going to correct this and put a new version up on his site in the near future.
