I'm thinking of taking a trip to Germany on my Bonnie. It has the factory performance silencers. However, I have heard that the German police are really tough on noise emission regulations.

Does anybody know what they can / will do to a foreigner on a loud bike?

Last summer in Frankfurt, there was some real cool Guzzi parked almost in front of their opera house on Goetestrasse. Old school cafe racer. I wondered around for awhile and then being few hundred meters away, I heard him starting the engine and taking off. I think you should be OK with yours. Drink Kolsch or Bavarian weizen while there. Two different types of beers but both great. Franziskaner and Augustiner are great brands for weiss.
Cheers.

TB:

had a few holidays in Czechia, passing through Germany.Pipes on my Triumph Legend were wayyy louder than the TOR's on my Bonneville. No problems.Beware of cars on the autobahn cruising at 200+ km/h: they like a free path, give them room to play...
Last year my Legend got stolen in CZ.Invest in a lock!

Grtz, Thieu. :upthumb:

I take my tor's through Germany too. No problems so far, but I know that when you meet a "creepy" policeman he is allowed to confiscate them on the spot.
