Hi all-
I've got about 900 miles on my bonnie, and have noticed that the left pipe is nicely blued next to the engine, while the right pipe has only turned a light brown or tan. I did the 500 mile service myself, and have removed the AI and balanced the carbs (homemade loop manometer). Couldn't have done that work without the help of this great website! The carb balance was off quite a bit with the vacuum being too low on the right cylinder, but the pipe coloring hasn't really changed since the re-balance (400 miles ago).
Now I'm thinking the idle mixture may be off (too rich?) on the right cylinder, making it run relatively "cold"... if that makes sense to anyone? Is there anyway to adjust the mixture screw without having that special "D" screw tool? I've ordered that tool, but it won't be here for at least a week or so. My dealer is over an hour away and they're always busy, so I was hoping for a way to work on this over the long weekend.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
