For the first time I have a lid with a shield, an HJC CL33 [$80 on sale!!!] Wow, what a difference it makes; the ride experience is soooo much better. Of course, the bugs slamming into my face won't be missed, but the noise reduction is impressive. I have been following the posts on ear plugs, and while I'll still use them, the local trips will be more fun.

I tried on the full face type but knew it was not for me. The CL33 is a suitable compromise.

All those years with the "wind in [my] face"? At 25 years a sensation of freedom and adventure; at 55 years, just a pain in the ass.

I have been looking at the HJC CL33.
Like you davidc ,the bugs, sand etc is a pain in the a$$.
Ill probably pick one up at Americade event.

Congratulations. I have the HJC CL15 and was pleased with my choice, I'm embarrassed to ID the POC I was wearing prior. Looked up the CL33, good looking lid. Here's to never needing them.
