I have been trying to put the perfect bar end mirror on my thruxton. I love the Rizoma, in fact bought the retro classic, but they do not fit on the stock bar well. I got them on with the stock screw and Rizoma bar ends, but they move when I adjust the mirrors. The screw is just not strong enough to hold them in place.

I have read mixed reviews on Napoleons and cant see how they would be any better on the end of stock bars.

The CRGs would work but I dont particularly like the look on the thrux, though love the mirror - had them on my Tuono.

New clipons are too expensive at this point - LSL=$, woodcrafts are great and inexpensive, but will make the riding position even lower.

I read where someone recommended taking a hacksaw to the end of the stock bars, but the author did not eleborate. I suspect sawing of the end exposings the typical 7/8" tube that most clipons have. Is this correct and how much should i saw off?

Any recommendations are GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks

hmmm ... my Rizomas fit just fine on my Thrux. I use the Rizoma bar ends w/sliders - mounted them using the stock bolt thru the stock end cap (flipped) - then the bar ends - that seems to hold the mirrors on place.

I have the same set up - though with bar ends no sliders and no stock end cap figured the more screw giving hold inside the clipon the better. When I try to adjust the mirror the bar end turns. I have not tried it on an extended ride not sure how the vibrations would affect the screws, but I figured if the bar ends move with minimal pressure being applied then they will easily losen on a ride.
