i am narrowing down the problem of the stalling. i removed the plugs today and they were both carbon fouled. when i bought the bike it had a hotter plug ngk9 but i replaced it with stock ngk 8 can this cause the carbon fouling. also i believe that a weak coil can cause the same problem. i think the previous owner had the carbs re jetted any thoughts

I would check out the jetting for sure and see if it matches what you need. Who knows what you have in there. If your plugs are fouling that bad it sure sounds like it is running rich. Also make sure your air cleaner isn't clogged and your choke is opening all the way. That's the easiest things to check first and it doesn't cost anything.

Check your air filter and make sure it's not oil soaked. The 2001 Bonnie had a problem with an oil seal that would let oil into the airbox. Easy fix. Replace seal that is located in the left side cover on the end of the crank

Or too much choke? Had a similar problem. was leaving the choke on too long (easy warm up). Jets (unknown) could be a problem as well? As said step by step & you will find out. Not a biggie- at least you can still ride. He** plugs are cheaper than gas now. Things could be worse? Youll find the problem- could be as easy as crappy gas. The hotter plug thing sounds lookable? :???:

i had removed the air filter to check if there was an obstruction and found a puddle of fuel in the air box any ideas why this would happen. i also notice when the bike started the left carb was puffing out a fuel mist by the rubber hose connection to the intake i guess it seems like it was missing. really need some help on this.
