I'm sure this topic has been covered but I couldn't find it in the first 10 pages of the history so here it goes again. I'm about to go from the 16t to 17t sprocket on my 04 speedmaster. I was talking to some guys I work with who know a bit about bikes but nothing about my bike specifically. I was talking about doing the work and one guy started talking about changing out the chain. I told him I didn't think I had to but I decided to ask the question before I got into the work. So who's done the change over and how will the chain be effected?

The chain will not be affected at all. When doing the change, the rear wheel will have to be loosened, and after fitting the new sproc, you readjust the rear to tension the chain. Easy as pie!
