just got back from sport bike night and the bonnie felt at home. Got alot of compliments and people checking it out. Then it dawns on me that I can do the same thing on cruiser night. It's great having a bike that can bring sportbikes and cruisers together!!!

Same with riding, you can cruise with the cruisers or mach with the sportbikes. Everyone says my Bonneville is confused, doesn't know what it wants to be when it grows up. I guess ones motorcycle is a reflection of themselves.
You got to love it!

Yes, it's a dual purpose bike!
Yesterday my Daytona riding buddy and I went for a ride with another friend with a HD Softtail Custom Heritage.
First he wanted to race me from a set of traffic lights, and I smoked him (stock bonnie!), then we rode SLOWLY (10 above the speed limit!) to to a small mountain town. There we split up, and the HD rider went home. Daytona buddy was having a hard time going so slow - hard on wrists and back, and riding in second gear! I was having fun just tootling along.
Then Daytona and I went for a ride in the twisties. Man that little bonnie can turn. We caught up to a GSXR rider! He was a little tentative, there was lots of gravel about.
When we arrived home Dataon buddy laughed and said - HD rider would have $h!t trying to keep up in the twistes.
So this bike gave me two fun experiences with two different kinds of riders. Both my other buddies only enjoyed part of the ride.
What a great bike! :-D

I've often thought the exact same thing kenss4. I get compliments and thumbs up from every type of rider (cruiser, rigids, sport bikes, you name it.)
It is great indeed.

there's a lot of testosterone flying around right now. What does it matter. If I go with the full complement of friends I ride with, there's a VSTrom 1000 and 650, Ducati ST3, Ducati Multistrada, Honda V65 Magna, '84 Yamaha Seca 650, Harley FLXDSWQYSRF and me on the Bonnie. None of us care, each person will defend their bike to the death but we all enjoy riding together and the only people who seem to notice are other bikers and the odd cager who's never owned a bike. Funny thing though, the other day a guy on one of the most beautifully restored Norton Commandos I've ever seen, asked why I didn't have collector plates on my bike.

I sold the Bonnies (hope to have another one some day) and now I ride a yellow and black 130 hp Yamaha FZ1/Fazer. Amazing how such a good bike in a striking color combination, with amazing power, GREAT brakes, and R1 heritage seems to just get lost in the crowd of UJM's....... I go on rides now and nobody comes up to talk bikes with me anymore. I'm just another one of 'them'....... and there are millions of us out there.
YOU guys on the other hand, keep putting the Bonnie front & center, and keep yer peckers up Blokes!
