So I have about 23,000 miles on mine and it's been around, from Cali. to Colorado to Wyo...etc. Anyway I started developing a small oil leak on top of the crankcase where the pin inserts that allows it to spin and activate the push rod.....I replaced that small gasket on top which required me to remove the clutch casing.....also buy a new gasket for that casing as well.....anyway, I pulled what I thought was the damaged gasket where the oil was leaking from around the pin and reassembled......I threw in the fresh oil and started it up........no leaks from the crank case.....GOOD....no leaks from the breather hose...GOOD...no leaks anywhere...GOOD...

so, as I rode around town from streets to highways I notice that the gasket started leaking around the push-rod pin ....AGAIN!!! This time it was worse. For some reason, now there is a slight bit of free-play in the pin and I've got to suck up my pride and go to the dealer for a real fix....

Anyone experience anything like this, or have any cheaper suggestions beside the 75/hr maintenance my dealer charges? Or did any of this make sense to you?

Anyway, thanks in advance....

Crankcase? No. I'd call that a clutch cover leak...

Are you sure you reinstalled the gasket correctly? If I remember right, there's a little roller bearing assembly in there.

Its not clear what you are talking about.
If its the clutch operating lever on the top of the
primary case, there should not really be much oil there, as its at the top of the case.
Maybe check the crankcase vent system, maybe pressure is building up inside the crankcase and forcing oil out?

I dont think my clutch bit is loose at all..
Surely there is a bearing and seal there, and something to hold the lever in so it does not pull up and out.

Communication is an encode/decode process that must occure within the same protocol/language.

Get the right words and then ask. We'll all be glad to help/opinionate/confuse once we understand what you're talking about.

Above is probably the exact reason why I shouldn't have done this myself......to the mechanic I go.

Its how you learn something.
Its one thing to read a book, and another to do hands on, and knowledge is always a good thing, even if it gets expensive sometimes.

When I screw something up, I learn something, and wont do that again...
