Anyone else have the clutch hub nut come loose on them?

This past Saturday the ol' lady and I were out riding about 60 miles from home when I pulled in on the clutch to downshift. Big surprise when the lever only moved a tiny bit and would not downshift. We pulled over to check it out and found out that the clutch would not work.We decided to limp on home shifting without the clutch. Very challenging to say the least.

On Sunday I pull the clutch cover to see what the problem is. Nothing obvious at first, then I notice that the clutch basket will move in and out about a half inch. I pull the clutch lifter plate and springs, and lo and behold there is the clutch hub nut laying loose behind it. I used some loc- tite on it and torqued it back down. After a trip to the dealer to pick up a clutch cover gasket (they had it in stock, but only had one), I have it all back together and everything seems fine.

The bike is an 05 Bonnie Black with about 19,000 miles on it. Never been apart before.

Just curious if anyone else has had this happen.

Later,
Mac

Nope, but my bike is 0n "07 with 1500mi. Never had that problem with older Triumphs either, but few things surprise me with a bunch of machinery put togeather. Good for you that you could isolate the problem and repair it!
