Well, you may not have realized that you were helping me, but still.
So I've been lurking on here for a while, and learned a ton about these bikes from reading, rereading, cross-referencing, and the like. Then I had a couple of questions a while back, and made an account... but then I figured out the answers by reading more, and never got around to posting.
But now, I've made the decision to go for it, so I have a deposit down on a '07 silver Bonneville, which I'll be picking up in a couple of weeks from Triumph of Fort Myers/Gulf Coast Motorcycles.
I just wanted to come on and say hi, 'cause I'm sure I'll be stomping around these pages in the next few weeks and months (and hopefully years) as I break in/work on/modify the Bonnie. And also thanks, especially to the heavy posters out there- I feel like I at least am aware of all of the issues that are important. Granted, firsthand knowledge will take some time coming, but I doubt I'll be put in a situation where I'm totally in the dark. Keep up the good work, and hopefully I can contribute myself soon enough.
-G

My story is much like yours, and so many others here as well. I spotted the bike on the road and said "hmm." Found the official Triumph site and said "yes, that's the one!" Then my Internet searches kept coming up TriumphRat.net. Once I discovered this site it was all over - the love and enthusiasm for this bike are contagious, and the folks here are great.
Welcome, G!!

Awesome man! Welcome aboard!
Luv bugs......ride with your mouth open so you don't have to stop for food, protien! Yeah...thats rediculous! Anyhow, you will love your ride and learn things to share here to help everyone out. Ride safe hard and often. Next winter when folks are commenting about proper bike storage methods you will be confused cause riding is year round down there!

Yeah, I can't complain about FL weather. Well, the summers might be a tad hot, but I can deal with it. Actually, I get the double whammy because my family has a home in western NC, about an hour outside of Robbinsville... :-D
Don, spending most of my time in the more southern parts of FL, I hadn't heard of C&J, so I did a google search and found two hits: a Feed Supply shop in Melbourne, and a Bike Shop in Lakeland... so I'm assuming that you're talking about the Bike Shop. What's the story with that place?
Urg, and the next couple of weeks'll be interesting, considering that I was just laid off, and have too much time on my hands to spend thinking about the Bonnie. Fortunately, I already have some new things lined up, so I'm ok financially, but now I have too much time on my hands in the meanwhile to plan on what I want to do to/with the bike.
