Hello and howdy from Texas. This is my first posting on the forum and I'm needing some feed back to help me on a decision. I currently ride a honda VLX 600 shadow and was intending to upgrade to a suzuki C-50 Boulevard until I checked on the Triumph prices and realized that they were not out of reach. I have always had a softspot for Triumphs and there are just so many Harleys over here in the US that I won't get on that bandwagon (althought I do respect that they are made here in the US, and parts are not a problem). Any opinions are appriciated. Any of you USA riders please share with me what you paid for your America and any issues that you have encountered. Thanks Awfully Chaps!

You'll get only positive answers of course since we are all triumph owners. But for what it's worth, go for it. They are extremely dependable and fun as **** to ride. And you'll find that you're going to spend a lot of time at gas stations and anywhere else you stop telling people about your bike ! People are just amazed when they see these new triumphs and you'll recieve uncountable compliments on the road. On a ride recently with 2 friends who have harleys, we were eating breakfast when a guy comes up to our table and asks who's triumph that is out there then proceeds to rave about it. Then when we left him and 2 other guys were standing next to my bike and began with the compliments. My buddys were on $20 and 30k harleys and i'm sure that had to bother them !
Anyways, the only thing you have to decide is whether they are powerful enough for you. Thats the only complaint anyone has. Most are fine with them, and you can get another few HP with simple mods. But if you are used to Japanese bikes with 80-100 HP, you ma find them lacking. On the positive side they had lots of low end torque for thier size and can keep up with any harley aside for a Vrod.
It's a bike i feel like i can recommend to most anyone aside from those who are power hungry. Pretty much everyone who buys one loves them.

Thanks DAZCO for the opinion. That's a pretty machine you have there! I'm not surprised thet your bike stood out from the Harleys at the cafe. Power should be just fine for what I do...cruising...short touring and the like. How are they on gas? Any parts availability problems that you know of? Thanks, Capteno

I purchased 2007 America(blue/white) and I absolutely love it.I also ride with the Harleys and people always comment about the Triumph.Stopped last week at Destination Harley and 3 salespeople went outside to look at my bike..all sat on it and were impressed with bike..wish I could have taken their picture in their red sales vests!!Actually have those Harley riders inviting me to go to rallys, etc. They can leave keys in their bikes as mine grabs all the attention!!!Pricing was same at 3 dealers here in state of Washington...MotoInternational installed accessories no shop time so I purchased from them..great dealer whom I hope will not go away..new owner 5/15 maybe?? Go ahead and buy that triumph..best investment for enjoyment I have ever done..invested in 3 ex-wifes and this ride is the best!!

Thanks odatbob! You bought the very bike and colors that I am interested in. I saw one of these(in blue and white) heading south on I35 in Fort Worth a while back and it just reaked with standout class! I have three dealerships to choose from in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metromess, one in Fort Worth and 2 in Dallas. Hope I can get them to compete for my buisness. My wife and I will be in Seattle on July the 4th to board a cruise to Alaska (inside passage). I have a cousin who lives there so we will be staying with him a couple of days to see the Seattlesites before departing for Alaska on the 7th. This has always been her dream trip and in our ninteen years together I kept saying someday, well, someday arrived. The point is........She gets her dream trip, I get my dream bike! Sometimes you gotta work the system. But really I'm bigtime looking forward to the trip myself.

You will really enjoy that alaska trip...very scenic and awesome. In 1964 I rode my 125 Jawa up thru Canada and caught the ferry at Prince Rupert to Haines, then the Alcan Highway to Anchorage. My first journey on a motorcycle, camping under bridges, experienceing 20 hour daylite, drinking warm beer....ahh..the life of the 20 year olds.Today I am planning trip to Yellowstone in late july,no camping under bridges,6-8 hour ride, cold drinks only..life is different at 64!!!Contact me when you get to Seattle if you have time..253-859-8630.Meet for coffee(thats what we do best in seattle)

I test rode an America and loved it. Bought a Speedmaster and havent stopped getting compliments from people. It has plenty enough power for me and I just love cruising on it. When on a straight section that I decided to open the throttle it cruised up to 150 kms an hour before I decided enough for me. they are a comfy bike to ride and you can mod it if you still want more. I am a true convert to the Triumph brand after riding a yamaha previously. You wont regret your purchase.
Should also mention that my mate rides a 1200 Harley with extra chrome and mods (very nice looking bike) and when he had a ride of mine the first thing he said was, gee thats smooth isnt it.

Hello Texas! Do not hesitate, get the Speedmaster. I´ve been riding a 2004 now for 2 years and have loved every kilometer. In February 2007 I was visiting California and hired a Dyna Lowride and did 1250 miles in 4 days, you can´t even compare the two. Speedmaster outruns on every momentum. Seems California does not hire the Triumph cycles. If anybody knows about a Rocket or Seedy for hire please come forth. I visit the west coast appr. twice a year and would rather ride a Britt on my visits.

Let us know if you get that America, Captzeno. I'm in Fort Worth also so maybe we could hit the Underground Grill and Tavern and park amongst the sea of HD's. Fun to sit on the deck and watch the goings on.
BTW, Tony and company at Eurosport are straight up folks to deal with.
