So I took 'Shirley', my new '07 TBA, to the free Basic Rider's Course today on base. The small class had a pretty good mix of bikes, a Yamaha Star, Honda CBR, Suzuki sumthin' or other, coupla of those HD uglies, a Victory Vegas, and my shiny new blue Triumph. Got a few funny looks pulling up in a cruiser that's not a V-twin, and while she might not have been the loudest, she sure was definitely the prettiest. I'm quickly becoming appreciative of the Triumph's individuality, with the vertical twin engine and the symmetrical exhausts.
The BRC, if anyone was considering taking it, is a great course. Learned an incredible amount from a very professional instructor, and I am looking very much forward to tomorrow's time on the range (if only it didn't start at 7 am).
There was only one downside to today. On my way home I decided to tempt fate (and my new found 'skills') and take the I-5 home. My, can this girl get up and move when she has to! (and stock too!) But when I got back to the garage, and wheeled it in, I noticed a bright white peanut light shining up at me. It seems that the small red cover with the oil lamp symbol on it decided to depart my moto. This happen to anyone else? I'm not too concerned, as it should be covered by warranty. I am a bit distraught though, as my pretty (my wife instructed me to only use the word beautiful in regards to herself) 'Merica still has less than 400 miles.
Must run now, the wife is jealous of all the time I'm spending with the 'other woman.' Hope you all are enjoying your weekend as I am.
