I see just about everyone owning a Triumph twin removes the AI and was curious if scrambler owners w/ the TOR pipes have done this and noticed any difference?

What is the actual advantage of doing this?

Thanks,
D

From what I've read on here the biggest advantage is that it cuts down on the blueing of the pipes...... I didn't do it on my Scrambler and I think the blueing is beautiful and shows a well ridden and wonderfully enjoyed bike....... the pipe on the left is blue only up until it reaches the right side and the beautiful blue on the right pipe stops before it reaches the first slim down section....... there's enough gorgeous chrome and a wonderfully throaty growl that makes her sound as good as she looks...... I rode her for a week before the dealer put the TOR's and it sounded like a scooter compared to the sound now....... I also noticed a bit more power off the line and the occasional small backfire...... but i've got a single cylinder Savage Thumper and had gotten used to a bit of backfire....... it is absolutely the best investment on the Scrambler and an abolute neceissity....... I also went with a center stand because my 72 Daytona had one and it looks stunning sitting upright........ just my humble opinion........

I did it. My pipes and I are no longer blue. Rejetting with the TOR's makes a huge difference. It's like a different bike altogether.

My bike didnt go 3 mi till the A/I gone. No "popping" & the pipes are a nice "natural" blue just past the 1st bend.

The dealer re-jetted my Scrambler and added the TORs when the bike was bought, so I never rode it factory stock to compare the difference. It runs great and has the most lower end torque of my two classic Triumphs. However, my Bonne T100 was factory stock until I added the TORs as well, but so far, I have not re-jetted the bike. The Bonne runs smoother and is a bit faster on the top end. I'd say the TORs (without re-jetting the T100) gave me an extra 10 mph on the T100's top end, compared to the stock performance. I have to say that each bike's engine and performance is a bit different in terms of the Scrambler's 270 degree firing order, verses the Bonne's smoother 360 degree firing order. The Scrambler with the TORs sounds much more like a hoodlum bike, in terms of the exhaust note.
